In Turkey, a 116-year-old woman has recovered from Covid-19

A 116-year-old woman has recovered from Covid-19 in Turkey, according to the news agency Demiroren.

Aisha Karata, who was born in the Ottoman Empire at a time when birth data were barely recorded, has spent three weeks in the intensive care unit of Eskisehir Hospital, but has now been transferred to a regular ward and is feeling well, her son Ibrahim told the agency.

According to him, the old man received a single dose of the vaccine “Sinovac” developed in China and is believed to have been infected by a family member.

In February this year, French media reported that the French coroner, Sister Andre or Lisila Radon, who is considered the oldest woman in Europe and the second oldest in the world, had been infected with the new coronavir shortly before her 117th birth. Her illness was asymptomatic, but in the Toulon nursing home where she lives, the virus was detected in 81 of 88 residents and Covid-19 claimed ten lives.
