In Tokyo, a passenger train crashed into 10 people

Tokyo police on Saturday morning said they had arrested a man over the age of 30 who had injured nine people in a passenger train carriage with a knife.

The Tokyo Fire Department said nine of the 10 wounded were taken to hospitals and a tenth were able to leave on their own. None of the injured had lost consciousness.

The public television company NHK reported that a woman over the age of 20 was seriously injured. The suspect later surrendered to the police in a shop.

The railway company said it had canceled some flights following the attack.
