Al-Marsad Newspaper: Jeddah Municipality spokesman Muhammad Al-Baqami revealed the reason for the presence of water tanks and suction pumps on the streets of Jeddah so far.
A spokesman for the municipality said, during his appearance on the Al-Ikhbariya channel: “The issue of tanks is disturbing, but they are needed to draw rainwater, especially since the rainwater drainage line does not cover the entire city”.
“The presence of tanks for a temporary solution, until the completion of the rainwater drainage network, in addition to the fact that the pumps in the tunnels are set up for a certain percentage of water”, he continued.
Jeddah municipality spokesman concluded that the area around the tunnel is not covered by the water drainage network, so some pumps were pushed to draw the water accumulated in the low-lying area.
