Over the weekend, the first matches of the minor and major finals were played in the Lithuanian Futsal A League.
Kaunas Žalgiris won their first victory in the grand final, which defeated Jonavas Vikings 2:1 in the Kaunas sports hall after a very tense fight.
In the first half, the teams failed to score goals, although Kaunas Žalgiris was very close to it twice. The team defending the title of Lithuanian champions did not score even two ten-meter penalties.
In the second half, defensive football continued to dominate and the spectators had to wait a long time for the first goal.
Before the goal, the spectators saw a red card, which was shown to “Vikings” forward Jonas Ulberkis in the 29th minute.
The first goal of the match was scored only in the 37th minute, and the Brazilian Janderson of Kaunas Žalgiris broke the ice.
A minute later, the red card was shown to another member of the “Vikings” – this time Ben Spietinis.
Despite this, Viktor Kravtsov, the “Vikings” legionnaire, managed to equalize the result, but in the same minute, Daividas Reimaris scored and finally brought the victory to the Kaunas team.
The return match will take place in the Jonava sports arena next Wednesday.
On Saturday, the first victory in the fight for the bronze was won by “Pramogos” Gargžda, who defeated FK “Saulės kraš” 2:1 at home. This team will also play the return match next Wednesday.
