The detainee is suspected of transferring secret data to the SBU. According to media reports, he was a “deputy of the city council” of Yalta.

In Crimea, a resident of Yalta was detained on suspicion of espionage in favor of Ukraine, the FSB of Russia said on Wednesday, November 10.

“It has been established that a resident of the city of Yalta in the period from 2017 to 2018, on the instructions of the Ukrainian special service, collected and transmitted information constituting a state secret, including about employees of the Federal Security Service,” the message says.

He is charged with treason. The court arrested the man.

According to Interfax, the detained is the ex- “deputy of the city council” of Yalta Yuriy Lomenko. The City Council prematurely terminated his powers on November 8 “in connection with his voluntary resignation.”

We will remind, in October in the annexed Crimea, the “Supreme Court” sentenced a 61-year-old Ukrainian Konstantin Shiringa to 12 years in prison on charges of “espionage”.
