IMWM: warnings against heavy rain in four provinces

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued on Sunday, August 2, first degree warnings against heavy rain and storms for the province. Lower Silesia and 1st degree alerts against heavy rainfall in the province. Wielkopolskie, as well as in part of the provinces: Lubuskie and Opolskie.

In the province Greater weather forecasters forecast the occurrence of rainfall in periods of moderate and strong intensity. The projected amount of rainfall may be from 20 mm to 30 mm, and locally up to 40 mm. The same warnings were issued in province. Lubuskie for the poviats: Żagań and Nowosolski, and in the province. Opole for the following poviats: Nysa, Brzeg and Namysłowski.

In the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship heavy rain with thunderstorms is forecast. In the entire voivodeship, rainfall can reach a height of 20 mm to 35 mm, locally up to 50 mm. The strongest rainfall is expected in the morning and during the day.

A first level warning means that conditions are to be expected which are favorable for the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena which may cause material losses, health and life. IMGW points out that the situation is dynamic and you should follow weather reports.

IMGW also issued a 1st degree hydrological warning for some of the Dolnośląskie, Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, Opolskie and Śląskie voivodeships. In these areas, the water levels will rise rapidly and usually for a short time. This applies especially to small mountain and submontane watercourses, where local, in cases of very intense rainfall, short-term exceedances of warning states are not excluded. Rapid spikes can also occur in river catchments.
