Importance of Safe Driving During Volatile Weather Conditions Workshop by Al Ain Traffic Department in Abu Dhabi

The Al Ain Traffic Department of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police organized a workshop at the Police Officers Club in Al Ain on “Safe Driving During Volatile Weather Conditions,” which focused on enhancing awareness of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations during rain, fog, dirt, and dust, and in cases of traffic congestion.
The Police Follow-up and Aftercare Department – Al Ain Region, the Integrated Transport Center, Saed Traffic Systems Company, the Public Relations Department of the Al Ain Police Directorate, and members of “We Are All Police” in the Community Police Affairs Department participated in the workshop, in the presence of a large number of Arab and Asian communities, students, and different segments. From the community.
Colonel Saif Mohammed Naeef Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Al Ain Traffic Department, stressed the necessity of adhering to the variable speed indicated on signs and electronic directional boards, to enhance preventive measures and avoid accidents in volatile weather conditions, in order to preserve everyone’s safety.
He warned of the danger of a driver photographing or being busy other than the road, urging drivers to spontaneously reduce their speed to 80 kilometers per hour in volatile weather conditions, especially when fog forms, for their safety and the safety of road users. The workshop addressed a number of topics: The most prominent of which is safe driving during rain and fog formation, urging road users to monitor the weather conditions before moving their vehicle, reducing speeds on the roads, and leaving a sufficient safety distance between vehicles.
The workshop called for the necessity of adhering to the specified speeds, not recklessly entering valleys and coral reefs, exercising caution, reducing speeds on internal and external roads, especially during the late hours of the night and until the early hours of the morning, adhering to leaving a sufficient safety distance, and not overtaking other vehicles. Not using the four warning lights, using low beams when vehicles are driving in fog, and ensuring that the vehicle’s windshield wipers are working in the rain, in order to avoid traffic accidents.
Awareness
The Al Ain Traffic Department set up field awareness points in commercial centres, bus stations and corporate camps, to educate the public in general, and workers in particular, about the importance of adhering to traffic rules during weather conditions. At the conclusion of the workshop, souvenir and motivational gifts were distributed to the participants.
