IMIP Clarifies DHF Patient Data in Bahodopi, this is what Dedy Kurniawan said

METROSULTENG.com-PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) provided clarification regarding the data on the number of patients with Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Bahodopi District, Morowali Regency, which was considered by some groups to be inaccurate.

The Coordinator of the Communications and Media Relations Division of PT IMIP Dedy Kurniawan said that his party was incomplete in providing an explanation regarding this matter. According to him, data regarding the number of dengue fever patients throughout January 2022, which reached more than 100 people, was obtained from the Bahodopi Health Center.

“However, when we issued a release regarding yesterday’s fogging activities, we did not include an explanation which said that out of the 100 people, only 45 of them had tested positive for DHF. While the rest are still suspected of having dengue fever. We made a mistake on this technical explanation and forgot to include it in the news release published yesterday,” said Dedy, Wednesday (23/3).

Dedy said that his party apologized if there were parties who felt aggrieved by the incomplete news. He promised that this would not happen again.

According to Dedy, his party is very open and opens limited discussion space for parties who feel aggrieved regarding the incomplete information.

“The discussion is not on social media,” said Dedy jokingly.

As reported the day before, PT IMIP carried out fogging activities in five villages in Bahodopi District. This activity was carried out to suppress and prevent the spread of dengue fever.

The fogging activity itself is a collaboration between PT IMIP and the Morowali Regency Government and the Bahodopi District Government as well as a number of community communities, namely the Palopo Morowali Family Harmony (KKPM), Luwu Raya Worker Harmony (KPLR), Panrita Lopi Family Harmony (KKPL), East Luwu Family Harmony ( KKLT), Gondrong Morowali (GM) and Solidarity for Children Overseas Morowali (SARM).

Before fogging is carried out, a survey of the spread of Aedes aegypti mosquito larvae is carried out first. From the results of the survey.

It is known that there are five villages in Bahodopi Sub-district which are assessed as having a high level of mosquito larvae spread, namely Labota, Fatufia, Keurea, Bahodopi and Bahomakmur villages.

“Besides fogging, we also provide socialization and distribute abate powder to the people in the five villages,” said PT IMIP Comdev/CSR Division Coordinator, Tommy Prayogo.

This is the second implementation of the fogging program by PT IMIP. In 2019, the same program has also been carried out in a number of villages in the Bahodopi District.

“In addition, in 2020, we also provided assistance with fogging equipment to the Bahodopi District government,” said Dedy.(Van)
