Imanuelle Grives ‘will not use drugs in the next six months’ | NOW

Actress Imanuelle Grives, who was arrested at the Tomorrowland festival last summer for drug possession, said Tuesday night in the Jinek broadcast that she will not use drugs for the time being. When Jinek asked her if she didn’t just want to renounce it altogether, she said she didn’t want to pretend to be a saint.

“If you can’t do drugs normally, you have to stay away,” Grives says in the broadcast. “I am not a saint, but I made an agreement with myself: if you can use drugs as an enrichment, then it is allowed. But that will not happen in the next six months.”

Grives tells Eva Jinek at the table her story about the arrest, her time in prison and how her family reacted to it. “It’s bizarre to be that person from one of the biggest scandals in 2019,” she says of the fuss that caused her arrest in the media.

When she talks about her mother’s reaction, she is visibly excited. She says she found it very difficult to talk to her mother about it, because she comes “from a neat family”. But her mother responded very understandingly to the actress.

A good time

Grives repeats Jinek that she personally went through a difficult period and that the arrest came at a good time. “When I went out I felt good. But when I was home, I couldn’t move. Nothing just happened, I couldn’t do anything.”

Her first reaction to the arrest was therefore relief: “I could finally get off that thundering train.”

Grives, who in the coming months still has to be stuck with an ankle strap for six days in a house in Belgium, said earlier in conversation with de Volkskrant have again received offers for acting and have few problems with negative reactions on the street. “They understood that I was not a drug dealer, but a thrilling, stressed actress who made a very stupid choice.”
