Imanuelle Grives: ‘I only wanted one thing in jail: a reaction from my father, but it never came’ | magazine

When she is sitting on the couch at home – cup of tea in her hand, candles lit, cozy music playing – it is hard to imagine that this is the woman who was born on July 21, 2019 drug trafficking was locked up in the Antwerp prison. Imanuelle Grives (35) had to sleep on a mattress on the floor for a while, because there were no more beds. For a time she shared a cell with a woman suspected of murdering a man. Grives served her sentence on remand and did not have to return after the verdict in the fall of 2019. It is now finished: since then she has started a new part of her life.
