María Escario put the emergency brake on her work, from which he will be absent indefinitely to focus on his health. To the TVE Public Defender, as announced on its social networks, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“It’s time to take a break, trust the science as much as possible and focus all my energies on healing,” he wrote on his Twitter account a few days ago. The journalist, who started at TVE in 1985, concluded the announcement she shared with her followers with a sentence that reflects the good humor with which she is about to place herself in the hands of the doctors. “I’m another one with breast cancer and I’m trying”he wrote.
Among the colleagues who have sent him messages of encouragement, in addition to Carlos del Amor and others from TVE, there is Ana Rosa Quintana, who sent her “a special hug” and added: “I’m at your disposal because I’ve just been there… Well, we’re still working on it”.
In 2012, he suffered a stroke.
It is not the first time that Escario has suffered from a serious health problem. Many will recall that, in February 2012, she was hit by a stroke which kept her out for three months and from which, fortunately, she recovered.
“I have never stopped trusting myself. I’ve always wanted to heal myself; to always send messages of positivity to my brain,” said María, who is a point of reference in sports journalism made by women and whose work has been recognized with numerous awards, including Ondas 2013.
