This Tuesday, GNR detained two men, 22 and 25 years old, at the beach of Barra, in the municipality of Ílhavo, for stealing with a firearm.
“After denouncing that there would be disagreements between a group of individuals” in that bathing area, the military of the Guard moved to the place, “having realized that they would be facing a robbery using a bladed weapon, in which one of the individuals will have leaning a knife on the neck of one of the victims and then on the abdomen in order to coerce her to deliver the goods to him, ”reports a police statement.
Also according to the GNR, the military “immediately developed police measures that allowed the interception and arrest of the perpetrators, still in possession of the stolen material, as well as locating the used weapon, which had been hidden about 50 meters from the site.”
The stolen goods were returned to the victims. The detainees, however, are awaiting presentation at the Judicial Court of Ílhavo for the application of enforcement measures.
The GNR’s action on Barra beach had the reinforcement of military personnel from the Ílhavo and Vagos posts and the Detachment of Intervention (DI) of Aveiro.
