Six salaries as severance pay
According to Automotive News, the offer includes severance pay of six months’ salary and health insurance until the end of the year, if the person voluntarily gives notice. As a result, Russian employees will be secured until the beginning of 2023. According to Kommersant, the six-month severance pay will apply to those employees who resign by Friday, June 17.
Unlike the Kaluga plant, which Volkswagen directly owns and employs 4,200 people, the assembly of Škoda models took place in Nizhny Novgorod on the basis of an agreement with GAZ, which owns the plant. Coincidentally, on Tuesday, June 14, it is exactly 11 years after the signing of this agreement. The Škoda Yeti was the first to start production here in 2012. Last year, 400,000 cars produced under this cooperation were celebrated here last year.
