“I love new women, those with beards and penises.” Comedian Gervais outraged the transcommunity

Gervais’s special SuperNature premiered on Netflix on May 24 and immediately caused controversy on social media, where people complain about jokes aimed at transsexuals. Viewers threaten to cancel the subscription.

“Oh, women!” actor, director and comedian Gervais said in the opening minutes of the new special. “Not all women, only the old-fashioned ones, the ones who have a uterus, fucking dinosaurs. No, I love new women, you are famous. Those with beards and penises, you are luxurious. And the old-fashioned now go crazy: toilets. ‘ ‘And why shouldn’t they?’ ‘They’re for the ladies.’ ‘They’re ladies, look at their pronouns!’ ”

Gervais also returned to the Kevin Hart scandal of 2018, which discussed his homophobic tweets from the past. Hart eventually withdrew from the Oscar moderation media storm. “You can’t predict what will be offensive in the future,” Gervais said. “The worst thing you can say today is that women don’t have penises.”

At the end, the comedian pointed out that the comments about the transcommunity should be amusing and shocking. “Of course, I support the rights of transgender people in real life,” he explained. “I support all human rights and transport is human rights. Live as best you can. Be the sex you feel you are.”

In the meantime, the viewers in question share negative reactions on social networks and claim that they are canceling their membership on Netflix after the special is broadcast, the website warns. IndieWire.

“Ricky Gervais has a new stand-up show on Netflix,” one transgender wrote on Twitter. “After five minutes, he jokes about transgender people who attack and rape people in public toilets. For him, we only exist as a joke, a threat, a little less than a human.”
