The story of Jordan, a nine-year-old boy who lives in a home in Oklahoma, United States, with other young people without a family, is going viral. Last week, the minor gave an interview to KFOR television station, affiliated with CNN, and when asked what he would ask if he was entitled to 3 wishes he said he only wanted to have a family. “I hope one of you will choose me. I just want to have a family. Have someone to call a parent. Or just mom, or just dad. It doesn’t matter, ”he said.
After the interview with Jordan was shared by the television station, more than 10,000 people contacted the department responsible for children in Oklahoma care homes, showing interest in adopting the boy, who dreams of becoming a police officer.
Contacted by CNN, the head of the adoption department, Casey White, said she preferred the young man to stay in Oklahoma City so he could be close to his recently adopted younger brother. The official also says that there are several people who were already registered with the adoption department and whose profile complies with the bureaucracies required by the state to continue with the adoption of the child.
“Our main objective is to find the best family for each child and, therefore, it is wonderful to have a wide variety of families to choose from. So that it is possible to find the perfect match for each child, since each child has their own unique needs ”, said the official.
Casey also warned interested parties that Jordan needs a “sympathetic family” due to the trauma and losses he has already suffered. The official added, during the interview, that Jordan “is not alone” and that “there are many other children, like him, who have been through trauma and who really need a family willing to step forward for them,” she said.
