After three years of silence, singer Flo Delavega, ex-Fréro Delavega, is back with a first solo single, Eternal spring. The opportunity for him to return to his experience in the duo he formed with Jérémy Frérot.

He had been discreet for three years but here he is, again, in the spotlight. Flo Delavega, whose real name is Florian Garcia, has literally been isolated since 2017: he now lives in the Landes without running water or electricity, with his partner, the singer Natalia Doco, and their son Santi. A necessary and saving decision for him, as he confides to our colleagues from Brut : “I wanted to reconnect to something a little more essential. Nature, my relationship with nature … I also had to understand these ecosystems and put some meaning into my daily life“.
A hermit’s life in the Landes forest
If his very first solo single, Eternal spring, just got out, Flo Delavega needed a real musical break: “For a year, I did not make a musical note but I remained creative, I tinkered, I gardened …“, he confided to the Parisian last week. His other hobby, now: permaculture, which he teaches on his land, called La Casa del Arbol. But this new single is not a one shot : like his former friend Jérémy Frérot, Flo Delavega thinks “ready to perform solo“and intends to release an album by the end of the year. Because the singer sees a”duality“, a “contradiction“in him: that opposing the lover of nature, who needs to entrench himself, and the lover of the scene.
A halftone success
Since his withdrawal from media and cultural life, Flo Delavega sees indeed its former success within the duo Fréro Delavega in halftone: “The Fréro experience was great but it brought so much light to me, on this side “You have to be in the performance all the time, you have to be efficient all the time, you have to be beautiful all the time” … And I at deep inside me, it’s something that I understood with these three years of hermit: it is that in fact I am deeply the two“, he explains.”I’m a hermit who likes to go on stage in front of thousands of people“The 33-year-old artist also told Brut that he would like “create a festival“in his field, with among other things as sets, which he hopes one day”groceries“, “a guys“and”a wall“made up of trunks.
