JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Hyundai already planning to enliven the car competition in the Low MPV segment, through its predicted product named Staria. This rumor started from the Philippines which registered the patent name of the new model.
Reporting from Autoindustriya, the trademark was submitted by Hyundai to the Intellectual Property Directorate of the Philippines on June 1, 2020 for Staria and September 15, 2020 for Staria Premium.
According to the report, the name Staria will be an MPV, van, electric vehicle or hybrid vehicle.

Interestingly, Hyundai Philippines is said to be importing a number of models from Indonesia. One of them was the Staria’s seven passenger car.
Apart from the Philippines, the Staria trademark is also registered in Malaysia, Laos and Cambodia. Even to Germany, France and Latin America.
Meanwhile, PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has yet to reveal the exact new model that will be launched in the country.

However, Hyundai has indeed committed to invest in Indonesia amounting to US $ 1.5 billion in the framework of developing passenger and environmentally friendly vehicles.
Makmur, Managing Director of PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID), said that the Hyundai factory in Cikarang will operate optimally in early 2022.
“Surely we will follow government regulations regarding the procurement of electric vehicles. Of course, our production follows what type of vehicle the Indonesian people like, ”said Makmur, in a virtual conference (6/11/2020).
