Democratic Bulgaria has not made a final decision on whether to support the ITN government. This was announced by Hristo Ivanov in the program “Sunday 150” on BNR.
“We have not made a final decision. We will wait until the last possible technological moment. Let’s see the colleagues from ITN in which direction they will go. Then we will decide. They do not threaten us with early elections or isolation. This is a battle that no one can. “He isolates us. The others come and go. Whoever wants to fight for Bulgaria is usually with us,” Ivanov said.
“I can’t say what our attitude is. The reality is that we lack a minimum amount of information on which to make a decision. I don’t know what is the formula. It is emerging and I am very worried about what I see as an outline. I hope that this will be reconsidered by colleagues from ITN. I cannot distort my soul and say that the figure who appeared at the last moment as Prime Minister is convincing. It is not a question of commenting on the biography of Mr. Nikolov. The way Plamen Nikolov appeared makes me very worried. It is a process without predictability, “Ivanov said.
“In this parliament, a substantial majority could be formed around clear leadership and around clearly stated and carefully discussed policies, subject to political commitments … We are in a situation where we cannot structure a process of preliminary dialogue on key issues. We are not working with a policy of accomplished facts … The fundamental problem we had with the manner of governing Boyko Borissov is that all power was concentrated around one person. This allowed for a level of uncontrollability that turned into corruption. Now a formula is emerging and we are entering a situation in which there is a decision-making center around Mr. Trifonov, who has been taken out of institutional policy. It’s a black box … It works backwards to build trust. “
Ivanov stressed that The DB is ready to support a strong reformist government that will transform Bulgaria:
“We need to be convinced that this is shared by a well-built team that can make it happen, a team that has a leader. I realize it’s hard to find someone like that. Instead, we see a person for whom the best, what we can say about him is that he should be given a chance. But we cannot afford to enter such a regime in this situation. “
Ivanov is adamant that he wants a dialogue with ITN.
“You have to find common denominators, build a dialogue. Don’t put them in a parliamentary hall and say, ‘Either support or you’re guilty.’ The conditions to give support for a change in depth, and not just someone to keep the door of the Council of Ministers open. No purposeful process. We are in a situation where we cannot structure a process of preliminary dialogue. We can’t put this thing on the table. We will now be in a waiting position. Let’s see if our ITN colleagues want our support. We are ready to share the heavy responsibility of a government if it convinces us that it is reformist. We have a cause and that leads us. On Friday, only the name of Mr. Petar Iliev was discussed with us. And it was discussed because we raised it.
