No more solo groups and contacts created to send market lists! With the new updates offered by WhatsApp, you will be able to write to yourself everything you don’t want to forget and without having to bother anyone else.
‘Message Yourself’ is the new feature of the world’s most popular messaging app. It’s a chat visible and accessible only to you, which you can use to write important notes, save web links, or upload documents and voice memos.
(It may interest you: WhatsApp will allow you to search and write to companies and businesses without adding them).
This is really not something 100% new. Many users had before goal decisions for years and more than one has been chatting with himself to be able to write down his earrings.
However, to make it more practical and avoid creating groups yourself or asking someone else to send you their contact, Mark Zuckerberg’s company has announced that This novelty will be available for all iOS and Android mobile phones in the coming weeks.
How does it work?
Using it is easier than it seems. The first thing you will have to do is open the WhatsApp application on your mobile phone.
Then hit the option that says “create a new chat”. There, a drop-down menu will appear with all your contacts, including yours.
Select your name, open the conversation and that’s it!

On the shoulders of the giants: Telegram and Signal
With the Notes app increasingly outdated, two of Meta’s strongest rivals had already come up with a feature nearly identical to the one Zuckerberg announced in November.
Telegram, for example, has a chat called ‘saved messages’, which will always appear on your home page. There you can forward messages from other people, write whatever you want and even save images and voice notes.
On the other hand, another of WhatsApp’s rivals, Signal, has a feature called “Note to Self” that basically allows for the same thing.
(Also: Mass layoffs on Facebook: They announce the departure of 11,000 Meta employees).
However, unlike WhatsApp’s recently launched feature, Signal doesn’t suggest your profile at the top of the recipient list. Users need to find and select the option that says “Personal Note” to use the feature.
