how to initiate quick actions by touching the back of your iPhone

At the end of June, Apple presented iOS 14 to the world at WWDC, its annual developer conference. Rather generous in novelties, the new version of the operating system which will animate the iPhone in a few weeks was first tested in two beta versions by the developers. The Cupertino company, which is still working on iOS 14, then released a third beta, public, installable this time by all users.

The installation procedure is not overwhelming, but using a beta version of iOS is intended for advanced users.

Among the novelties of the mobile OS, an accessibility option inaugurates new gestures capable of launching rapid actions through tapping on the back of the device. Here’s how to take advantage of it.

1. Enter accessibility options

Open them Settings iOS and go to the menu dedicated toAccessibility. Under the title Physics and motor skills, then enter the menu To touch.

2. Activate the option Touch the back of the device

Scroll through all the options displayed in the menu. At the bottom of the list, enter the section Touch the back of the device.

Two options are available: Touch twice and Touch 3 times. Enter each one in turn and choose the action that will be associated with it. You can, for example, choose to increase or decrease the volume, take a quick screenshot, open the control center, etc.

When the two actions are configured, you will then only have to perform the gesture, Tap 2 or 3 times on the back of the iPhone, so that the latter performs the defined action.
