All festival Latvian New Music Days 2021 concerts this spring take place online. The organizers, the Latvian Composers’ Union, and also the authors of the compositions emphasize that concerts can be listened to online anywhere, and recommend listening to them outdoors. That is why they are called foot concerts. At the center of the festival’s concert programs is a masterpiece of the 20th century, a masterpiece that has changed the ways of music development. These outstanding masterpieces have been sources of inspiration for new works by Latvian composers who contextualize, refer to, meditate on the poetic and technological aspects of these works.
