Responding to the request of several member states, the President of the European Council Charles Michel organized a videoconference summit on Tuesday evening to which the leaders of the Twenty-seven, the Presidents of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, were invited. , from the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, from the Eurogroup, Mario Centeno, and the High Representative for the EU’s foreign policy, Josep Borrell.
At the end of the two and a half hours that this remote meeting lasted, Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen explained to the press the four priority areas for which the Member States and the European institutions decided to intensify their coordination and their cooperation . In order to ensure the effectiveness of the latter, the Commission will make daily telephone contacts with the 27 Ministers of Health and Home Affairs.
