The Nintendo Switch offers a plethora of free games to players, including Fortnite, and whether you’re new to the Switch – or new to Fortnite – getting the game up and running on the console is quick and easy.
Fortnite is a digital-only game, which means you have to download it from the Nintendo eShop, available through your Switch console, before you can play it, and to do that, you will have to log in to your Nintendo account on Switch.
– It is important to note that you must be logged into the account you want to play Fortnite on.
– Next, select the Nintendo eShop icon on the console and use the search bar to find Fortnite.
-Once you find it, just click on the free download button.
– You will then be taken to the confirmation screen, where you will need to click Free Download again.
– From there it will install – as long as you have enough storage space.
Pro tip: You don’t need to keep your Nintendo Switch turned on to be able to download Fortnite — it will continue to install even in sleep mode.
Although your download may pause if you’re using another app or game that requires a Wi-Fi connection, when you install it, the Fortnite app will appear in your Switch library without a loading bar underneath.
-Create an Epic Games account
-While you wait for the game to download, you can create an Epic Games account.
– You will need this account to play Fortnite, as it is used to save all your progress and user data.
If you already have an account on your mobile, PC, Xbox, or PlayStation, you must link it to your Nintendo Switch.
– To create an account, go to the EpicGames website on your phone or computer.
– Select Register and fill in the required data, such as your name, email address, and password.
– An email will be sent to you at the address you provided which will be necessary to set up your account.
-Once you select the link in the email, the Epic Games website opens in a new browser tab and you’re automatically signed in.
– From the left menu, select Connected Accounts.
– Then select “Connect” under all the video game networks you want to play Fortnite on with the same account.
– After setting up your Epic Games account and linking it to your Nintendo Account, you can now open Fortnite on your Nintendo Switch.
– Press the Fortnite icon on the Nintendo Switch home screen to open the game and play.
