It is finally active also in Minervino the Special Care Continuity Unit (USCA) in compliance with the operating protocol established by the Puglia Region, which will allow to carry out the home assistance activity of patients affected by Covid.

The USCA service is activated directly by the GP, by the Continuity Care doctor (MCA) and by the PLS, through notification. Therefore it is possible – and even simpler – to activate it through general practitioners, free choice pediatricians and continuity of care doctors. Activating home care does not imply that the swab is performed in relation to access to that service.

They can use the service Covid patients who do not need hospitalization, and specifically:

– asymptomatic positive subjects;

– subjects with mild symptoms;

– patients with mild respiratory symptoms with / without comorbidities but under the age of 70;

– abandoned patients with Covid disease;

– patients with modest respiratory symptoms and fever that has lasted for at least 4 days even without positive Covid;

– patients with significant symptoms (MEWS scale greater than 3).

Depending on the severity of the patient’s state of health, the service provides for health surveillance and telephone contact (in some cases daily), medical visits to be scheduled or 118 intervention.

The service is a fundamental tool for our community, impoverished in the services of access to care, so that every citizen – under the advice of their doctor – can receive adequate medical assistance in order to be able to face the fight against Covid more effectively. .
