How can I set up a nickname for Messenger chats?

This feature may not be available in Japan and countries in Europe.

You can set up nicknames of your choice for people you chat with in Messenger.

How to create a nickname for chats:

Desktop-App:

1. Open a conversation.
2. Click in the top right .
3. Click on Personalize chat > Edit nicknames.
4. Click the name of the person you want to edit.
5. Enter the nickname and click .

Computer (messenger.com):

1. Open a conversation.
2. Click in the top right to open the conversation information.
3. Click below Options on Edit nicknames.
4. Click the name of the person you want to edit.
5. Enter the nickname and click to save.

Note: Anyone in the chat can choose nicknames.
