The fire started from the neighborhood of the village and quickly reached the center
A large fire is raging in the area of Dolno Selo, Kyustendil municipality. The fire covered 4 neighborhoods and reached the center. Some people were evacuated. The old school building is on fire, and only a few meters away is the town hall. Firefighters are trying to prevent the fire from spreading to him.
The fire covered between 10 and 15 houses in different places in the village – some of them are inhabitable, others – not.
According to initial information, two women were taken to the hospital in Kyustendil because they fainted due to gassing. Their condition is stable.
“Two people fainted watching the fire burn. It was caused by a very strong wind, which caused a short circuit in the power lines, and a fallen spark on the grass caused the fire,” said the mayor of the village, Lozan Taskov.
According to him, all people have been warned of the danger. The villagers, together with firefighters, are trying to deal with the fire.
Due to the strong wind, which raged until late afternoon today, the fire quickly spread and covered the nearby forest. A total of about 400 decares of both pine and coniferous forest are burning.
Today 12 fires broke out in Kyustendil district, the situation is serious, announced earlier by the Regional Directorate “Fire safety and protection of the population” – Kyustendil.
The fires near the village of Garbino, Lisets mountain are serious. A fire broke out from Serbia near the village of Ushi. All teams are terrain. Forest employees, teams of Kyustendil Municipality also work. The work of the teams is hindered by the extremely strong wind.
Dozens of fires broke out in the country today, when temperatures reached 41 degrees Celsius.
The fire near Pernik is limited for the most part
The fire, which engulfed the forest between Pernik’s Teva and Moshino neighborhoods and headed for the village of Golemo Buchino, is limited for the most part, but the extinguishing work continues, the press center of Pernik Municipality said.
All available teams of the local fire service, two teams of firefighters from Sofia, the voluntary formation “Protozher”, forest officials and volunteers took part in extinguishing the fire.
The Southwestern State Enterprise, private companies, and the municipal enterprise Flor are helping with equipment. A protective strip has been made, which does not allow the flames to go to the houses in the village of Golemo Buchino.
There is no danger for the population, there will be a duty in the area all night. Mayor Stanislav Vladimirov, who was at the scene of the fire, thanked all the volunteers who responded to limit the fire.
The road between the villages of Golemo and Malo Buchino remains closed.
For the last month, due to human negligence, high temperatures and wind in the forest areas in the country, 62 fires have occurred on a total area of nearly 6,700 decares. 4,700 decares of them are in deciduous forests, announced the Executive Forest Agency.
From there, they call on the citizens to be responsible and vigilant, to observe the fire-fighting measures. A person who notices a fire should immediately call 112.
