One or more shots were fired tonight at a house in Dijkmanshuizenstraat in Noord. The police have arrested a suspect. Nobody was hurt. It has been restless in the street for some time.

The police were alerted about the shooting around 8.15 pm. A man between 18 and 22 years old and about 6 feet tall was searched via Burgernet. He wore a black jacket and black pants and took off on a men’s bicycle with a rack. Shortly afterwards, a suspect was arrested in the area.
Two nights ago, that house was also shot at. Local residents were informed yesterday with a letter from the municipality that the camera surveillance in the street was reinstated as a result of an incident. Presumably it concerns the shelling of two nights ago.
Last October, mayor Femke Halsema also set up camera surveillance in the street after a house was shot at and two explosions had taken place. That camera surveillance was stopped last January. An 18-year-old Amsterdammer was arrested in connection with that explosion.
