On Tuesday afternoon – 10 January – at around 00:30, the emergency services received a report of a fire rumor on Breestraat in Koog aan de Zaan. The report was quickly converted into a house fire.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a fire had broken out in the living area of the house, the former fire station in Koog aan de Zaan. The bank was on fire and the house was filled with smoke. The fire was quickly brought under control. The firefighters used the Venturi method to hydraulically ventilate the house. Water is sprayed out the window, drawing the smoke out of the house. The resident was checked in an ambulance and taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The cause of the fire is not yet clear, but arson is suspected. Police have marked the house as a crime scene and will conduct further investigations tomorrow. You may be a confused person. According to some local residents, an escalation was awaited.
