Hostage package deliverer Heerhugowaard now suspect herself | Inland

The woman raised the alarm during her delivery round and stated that she was taken hostage and forced to drive somewhere with a gun. She would have been forced to lie on the bottom of the PostNL bus while the robber emptied the box with mail items. Police expect to make several arrests in the case of this “fake hostage situation.”

During the police investigation, the suspicion arose that the delivery lady herself played a role in the robbery. She was arrested on September 20 on suspicion of theft and embezzlement in employment. The suspect has since been brought before the examining magistrate and has been in custody since her arrest. On 6 October, the chamber of the court will decide on the continuation of her pre-trial detention.

‘Not true’

According to her lawyer Brigitte Roodveldt, the 24-year-old woman denies having anything to do with the robbery: “My client has been questioned and she has made a statement in which she denies having played a role in the robbery. She denies that there is an ‘inside job’.”
