VSK’s soccer ladies get a highly meritorious new acquisition ahead of the coming season in Division 2 – on the coaching bench. The greatest Swedish national team goalkeeper of all time Hedvig Lindahl reinforces as assistant coach. “I hope to be able to help with my experiences from football,” says Lindahl to the club’s website.
Hedvig Lindahl ended an outstanding career last year after, among other things, two Olympic silvers, a WC silver and two WC bronzes. Her 189 international matches are the third most of all blue and yellow players and the most of all goalkeepers including both the women’s and men’s sides.

– I will have a focus on analysis of training and matches. I am new to the coaching role, but I hope to be able to help with my experiences from football in general, says the national team veteran to vskfotboll.nu.
Markus Lindberg is happy about the addition on the coaching side.
– It’s great fun that we were able to come to an agreement with Hedvig. I find her to be a very humble and ambitious person. Her role will initially be focused on qualitative analysis of training and matches. Then, of course, Hedvig is a great asset for all of us with her experience in top football and she can clearly help our players with many different kinds of tips on how to do things on and off the field to succeed, he tells the website.
If Hedvig Lindahl is also eligible to play matches for VSK, which starts this year’s league games in division 2 western Svealand away against IF Karlstad on April 13, nothing is mentioned.
