A man of origin Honduran, by name Fernando Guzman (28), was sentenced to almost 200 years in prison on two counts of sexual assault, according to a statement from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
The Montgomery County jury spent just 20 minutes on August 8 convicting Fernando Guzmán on the charges. Guzmán sexually abused a 7-year-old boy and an 8-year-old boy, both related to him (cousins), several times and subjected them to “horrible acts,” prosecutors said.
Almost two centuries in jail
The news site Chron indicates that one of the victims told her mother about the abuse, which later led to an investigation. After the children underwent sexual assault tests, police had “more than enough” evidence to arrest Guzmán, according to the statement.
After delivering the guilty verdict, the jurors spent just one hour deciding on the sentence: 198 years or two cumulative sentences of 99 years, plus a $ 10,000 fine for both charges.

“The judge and jury did the right thing, any child who has the courage to come forward and reveal the sexual abuse deserves justice,” Assistant District Attorney Wesley LeRouax said in the statement.
“In this case, two children had to endure a tragedy, fortunately the jury was able to see the family dynamics and make sure that Guzmán never lives to abuse another child,” he adds.

According to the portal Hispanic World, one of the little victims could not bear the torment anymore and told a trusted adult, who immediately reported it to the authorities.
On September 26, Fernando was finally arrested and charged with the horrible acts he committed against the minors, although he always denied the charges against him, he was found guilty.
