Yesterday, Hezbollah and the resistance supporters attended the funeral of one of its jihadist leaders, Assad Mahmoud Sagheer, known as “Hajj Saleh”, who passed away after a struggle with a malignant disease. The party mourned him in a statement, in which it stated that Sagheer “departed after a struggle with illness, concluding a great jihadi history known by the arenas of giving and sacrifice.”
Hajj Salih was born in 1968. He joined the ranks of the Islamic Resistance since its inception, and had a deep relationship with the two leaders, Imad Mughniyeh and Mustafa Badr al-Din. His work was in secret, especially since he assumed several responsibilities in highly sensitive files within the open conflict between the resistance and the enemy.
Commander Asad Sagheer, who played major roles during the nineties in the military operations against the Israeli occupation, and during the July war in 2006, took charge of multiple security files with the beginning of the Takfiri terrorist attack on Syria, in coordination with the Syrian state.
