Initially, he graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University, Department of Arabic Language in 1960.
After that, he joined the Higher Institute for Dramatic Art, graduating in 1964 as his first payment.
– He was appointed as an actor and then director of the TV teams established by Minister Abdel-Qader Hatem and Mr. Bedir.
After that he worked as a teacher for acting in the Higher Institute of Musical Education in 1967.
He was appointed a director of the National Theater in 1971, and a teacher of acting at the High Institute for Performing Arts in 1975.
He was appointed general director of Al-Taleea theater, then the modern theater, then the national theater.
In addition to his work in directing, he also acted in some films and plays.
He directed several plays for: “The State Theater, The Private Theater, Egyptian and Arab Television,” among which are the plays “The Children grew up – It is really a respectable family.
Samir Al-Asfouri presented 31 plays, the first of which was “Dumps Scaban” in 1963, and the last was “Pop” in 2011.

Married to the great artist Inaam Sallousa, and his daughter is a director, Taghreed Al-Asfouri, who directed many seasons of “Tamer and Shawkeya”.
The great theater director, Samir El Asfouri, was honored at the conclusion of the 21st session of the theatrical nights of Carthage in the Opera of the City of Culture in Tunis, in the year 2020.
