But the red eyes of Henrique Veiga-Fernandes and his team at the Champalimaud Institute show that, this time, this is not what will happen: there is a lot of work in the emergency against the covid-19, there is no time for celebrations.
Since the beginning of the disease, co-director of Champalimaud Research is practically dedicated to covid-19. And his Immunophysiology Laboratory is mainly testing, viral and serological. To staff and patients at the center: their sensitivity, as they are cancer patients, requires that the space be “covid-free”. And in three more external studies: to the population in risk professions in Loulé, and to the health personnel of Hospital de Santa Maria, in Lisbon, and Santo António, in Porto.
