Heart’s Desire Hospice Mobile Takes Maria on Trip to Hamburg and Baltic Sea

It was a big wish of hers and the heart’s desire hospice mobile fulfilled it for the seriously ill Maria: A trip to Hamburg with her daughter.

Berchtesgaden – 57-year-old Maria from Berchtesgadener Land suffers from advanced amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). It is a disease of the motor neurons that progressively leads to muscle paralysis. Maria is therefore dependent on outside help. And this is where the heart’s desire hospice mobile of the Berchtesgadener Land district association of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) comes into play.

Maria has long dreamed of the Hanseatic city of Hamburg, the sea and the “Lion King” musical that is performed at the port. That’s why the heart’s desire hospice mobile once again lived up to its name and sent Maria on the long-awaited journey. The Berchtesgadener Land district association reports on the successful trip on the BRK website.

“We weren’t on the Reeperbahn at half past midnight, but we were still able to fulfill a long-awaited wish for the seriously ill Maria from the Berchtesgadener Land with a trip to Hamburg,” says BRK district on-call manager Florian Halte, full of joy.

A successful trip: port city, musical and dolphin highlight on the Baltic Sea

It was not until the end of April that the heart’s desire hospice mobile had fulfilled a great wish of the seriously ill Lilli. Now Maria went to the far north. With Rosi and Mariane, Maria and her daughter drove to Hamburg and to the world-famous “Lion King” musical at the Theater am Hafen.

The following day we continued to the Baltic Sea, where Maria was able to enjoy the beauty and “impressive landscape in Travemünde” in early summer temperatures. And finally a big highlight: “An unexpected and suddenly appearing dolphin caused enthusiasm among everyone involved and rounded off this special trip,” says the website of the Berchtesgadener Land district association.
