Today, Monday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced the registration of 40 new cases that proved positive for its new coronavirus (Covid-19), bringing the number of infected people to 166, in addition to recording two new deaths.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Adviser to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson of the ministry, said that the new cases that have proven positive today include 35 Egyptians, 5 cases of foreigners of different nationalities, explaining that among them are 8 cases returning from Umrah, and the rest from those in contact with the positive cases that It was previously discovered and announced, as part of the Ministry’s surveillance and investigation procedures, in accordance with WHO guidelines.
Mujahid pointed out that two new deaths were recorded, one for a 72-year-old German national in Luxor Governorate, and the other for a 50-year-old Egyptian from Dakahlia Governorate, who was in contact with the Egyptian woman who died on March 12 in the same governorate, pointing out that the family of the deceased, who numbered 3, was Draw samples for them and their results were positive for the emerging coronavirus, and they are among the total number of reported positive cases.
Mujahid said that all recorded cases of HIV positive in isolation hospitals are completely stable and subject to medical care according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, except for 7 cases of moderate condition, and two cases of unstable condition.
He pointed out that the total of those recovering from the virus 26 cases to date, out of 34 cases whose results have changed laboratory from positive to negative for Corona virus (Covid-19), and the rest of the “negative” cases are followed up in isolation hospitals and their condition is stable.
Mujahid revealed the total number of people who have been registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until Monday is 166 cases, including 26 cases that have been cured and discharged from the isolation hospital, and 4 deaths.
In this regard, Dr. Hala Zayed directed the Minister of Health and Population to take strict preventive measures in the governorates of Dakahlia, Damietta, and Minya, due to the large number of contacts of positive cases in those governorates, in coordination with all ministries and relevant authorities.
Mujahid mentioned that the preventive measures taken in those governorates, including increasing the number of epidemiological investigation teams, clearing governmental and non-governmental facilities, and intensifying awareness campaigns to prevent all infectious diseases, in addition to ensuring the application of self-isolation measures as a precaution.
Mujahid also reiterated not to monitor any cases infected or suspected of infection with the new Corona virus in all governorates of the Republic except what has been announced, indicating that once suspected of any infection will be announced immediately, in full transparency in accordance with international health regulations, and in coordination with the World Health Organization.
The Ministry of Health and Population also continues to raise its preparations at all ports of the country (air, land, and sea), follow the situation first-hand regarding the “Corona emerging” virus, and take all necessary preventive measures against any viruses or infectious diseases, as the hotline “105” has been allocated. And “15335” to receive citizens ’inquiries about the emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases.

Mujahid added that 2,752 individuals were monitored inside the company for 14 days as a precaution, and medical examinations were signed in 1094 clinics, and x-rays were performed for 55 individuals.
“Mujahid” pointed out that all contacts of the company’s 10 individuals were identified, and all precautionary and precautionary measures were taken against them, and a PCR analysis was conducted for them, and the results of their analyzes were all negative, explaining that the quarantine work was done through 76 individuals from the team Follows the Ministry of Health and the Health Directorate in Matrouh.
