– He looks forward to explaining himself – VG

STAVANGER (VG) On Tuesday morning, the police again question the man who is charged with the murder of Birgitte Tengs and suspected of the murder of Tina Jørgensen.

Published:

– It is a tough situation for him to be in prison, naturally enough, so he is actually looking forward to being allowed to explain himself and answer questions today, says lawyer Stian Kristiansen to VG.

He defends the man in his 50s who is charged with the murder of Birgitte Tengs and suspected of the murder of Tina Jørgensen. Kristiansen is on his way to the police station in Stavanger where the interrogation is scheduled to start at 10 am.

– Why do the police want a new interrogation of him today?

– It is a common procedure when you are imprisoned for misuse of evidence: That you first take an initial interrogation and then the police investigate the case further and then you are called in for a new interrogation where you get the opportunity to answer the questions that the police ask themselves. after investigating the case for a few weeks, says Kristensen.

– How do you now see the way forward and a possible prison meeting?

– We have to take it after the interrogation has been completed, we must first concentrate on the interrogation, the defender says.

– Have the police said that they have something new that they want to come up with today?

– I have no comment on that at the moment. Then we will rather see if we can comment on it a little closer later, says Kristensen.

LOCAL MAN: The accused has lived in the Haugaland district all his life.

The interrogation is the first in almost a month. It happens at the police station in Stavanger. The man has previously been questioned the same day he was arrested and the day after.

– My client says that he is ready to answer any questions the police may have in the future. He is clear that the police have taken the wrong man, Kristensen said, to VG after the first two interrogations had been read.

The accused is currently remanded in custody until 1 October, ie the police may have to request that he be remanded in custody this week.

The South-West police district has announced that they will not be available to the press until Wednesday.

He has so far denied any involvement in the murder of Birgitte Tengs – and the murder of Tina Jørgensen, for whom he is also suspected.

The man was arrested on Lista in Farsund at 07.35 on the morning of 1 September. He was then traveling and lives in Haugalandet.
