He had a coronavirus, traveled from Buenos Aires to Santiago del Estero to attend a wake and had to isolate six locations

A woman from Lomas de Zamora and three men were arrested for illegally entering that province. They said that the burial was in Salta but the destination was a town in Santiago. They had close contact with at least 45 people.

Santiago del Estero had not registered new coronavirus infections for more than 20 days, but the deception of a woman and three men from the province of Buenos Aires forced them to isolate six towns.

According to the police, last Friday at around 11 p.m. a Jeep van with four crew members was stopped at a vehicle control on National Route 34.

Three passengers showed a “National Circulation of Inter-jurisdictional Scope” permit dated Thursday 25 and valid for 48 hours, indicating that their final destination was Salta.

Diego Ariel Pérez, the driver, and three brothers, Fabio Rolando Véliz, Susana Véliz and Reyna Felisa Véliz, were traveling in the van. The four were to arrive at a sister’s wake and the police allowed them to continue but warned them that they could not descend in Santiago del Estero.

Despite the warning, a complaint was registered on Saturday at the Santiago del Estero police station. The four people from Buenos Aires attended the sister’s funeral in Los Quiroga, a town in Santiago and had close contact with more than 40 people.

Troops found that these were the people who had entered the province the night before. All were arrested and brought to justice by order of the prosecutor Sebastián Robles.

The Covid-19 test was performed and the woman tested positive for coronavirus, for which she was admitted to the Independencia Hospital with police surveillance and a criminal case was opened for a violation of article 205 of the Penal Code. The woman evolves favorably and is in good general health.

Quarantine extension

The Government of Santiago del Estero, through Decree 1040/2020, made the extension of social, preventive and compulsory distancing official throughout the territory until July 17, except in six isolated districts.

These exceptions are for the town of Los Quiroga, and the places of Chaupi Pozo, Los Véliz, Los Gómez, Los Corbalán and Los Soria, all of the Banda department, where “free circulation” was prohibited after the confirmation of the last case of coronavirus in Santiago del Estero.

In these localities, preventive circulation is prohibited until the end of the maximum isolation time of 14 days, as of the last case confirmed by the province’s Ministry of Health.

At the same time, if necessary, the Ministry of Health is empowered to “expand the provisions in neighboring cities and / or areas in order to prevent the circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.”

In addition, the decree indicates that “the communal authorities of the different municipalities of the province and the municipal commissioners, each within the scope of their competences, will establish the control and inspection procedures to guarantee compliance with the rules set forth in the social distancing , preventive and mandatory ”.

It also establishes that they will take care of “the protocols in force and the norms established in the framework of the health emergency and its complementary norms, in all those activities that involve the attendance of people according to the authorizations (wake-ups, bars, public places)” .
