For HC Thurgau the championship continues today, Tuesday 27 December 2022, with an away game at EHC Winterthur. The match starts at 7.30 pm at the Deutweg ice rink. Twin brothers Gian and Luis Janett will remain with the Leuens and the board of directors will be restructured.
(mas/HC Thurgau) Shortly before Christmas, HC Thurgau narrowly won 3-2 at the Lanterna Rossa in Ticino and now goes to the penultimate table in Winterthur. The team from Eulachstadt is late in ninth place, 23 points behind eighth-placed SC Langenthal. EHC Winterthur has not won in twelve games, but in a direct duel with Leuen “Winti” won in two out of three games.
Gian Janett
Defender Gian Janett followed his twin brother from EHC Kloten to HC Thurgau this summer. If he plays again on loan for Thurgau this season, he has now signed a permanent contract with HCT for next season. The young and agile defender, used regularly by the Kloteners for three seasons in the Swiss league, brings a lot of creativity and playfulness to the Leuen defence. Gian Janett, who defended as a junior with the Pikes Oberthurgau in Thurgau, will play an important defensive role in Thurgau’s team planning.
Louis Janett
HCT goalkeeper Luis Janett, who was able to continue last season’s strong performances after recovering from a foot injury, has also extended his contract with Leuen by one year. Just like his twin brother, Luis Janett came to Leuen from EHC Kloten and is now playing a strong second season in goal for Eastern Switzerland. Just like his brother, the 22-year-old progressed through the junior levels at EHC Uzwil and Pikes Oberthurgau before moving on to the youth academy at EHC Kloten. Janett, who managed to establish himself as Leuen’s number one goalkeeper last season, will continue in this role next season.

After various internal discussions, Thurgauer Eishockey AG is reorganizing itself and is relying on proven and new strengths for the future. Caesar Müller and René Fontana announced their resignations from the Board of Directors at the end of the current season. The board of directors of HC Thurgau will thus have a new face from summer 2023. Roger Jacober was already elected at the Extraordinary General Meeting on 6 December. Jacober. Replacements are sought with immediate effect for the vacant seats of Caesar Müller and René Fontana.
