Having children before marriage? (4/6) • Actufoot • Pro / amateur football news

With the merger between FC Côte Bleue and Marignane Gignac FC, two clubs already very focused on training for several years, the youth sector could become even more powerful. This is one of the main objectives of both entities. 4th part.

“No need to dream with your eyes open, not even with your eyes closed. There is no miracle in football, AJ Auxerre there will be no more. Today, there is too much money in the football world and communities, for their part, have less and less. This sentence from Marc Vicendone announces the color, even if there was fusion, it would not allow targeting the professional world in Seniors. The objective will be, with or without total alliance, to reach the National in order to stabilize and above all, to offer young people the possibility of getting to know a very good level. If the two clubs refrain from dreaming big for their pennant team by imagining a merger, they nonetheless remain ambitious in terms of pre-training and training.

Whether it is Marignane Gignac FC or FC Côte Bleue, their youth teams already have an important place at the regional level. The MGFC even has a team in U17 National and U19, it plays the rise in National stuck-tight with precisely… the FCCB. In addition to the very good level in Youth already acquired over the years, the two clubs have put the dishes in the big ones by training all their educators. Marignane-Gignac is also associated with the “OM Next Generation” project, which gives certain advantages in terms of training and exchange. The club even has the gold label for women’s football school. At the FCCB, the majority of young people have been playing in the Seniors team for a long time. It is also this club that allowed the young Ilan Kebbal to bounce back. The attacking midfielder is playing today in Ligue 2 in Dunkirk where he plays regularly.

So what’s the point of merging if the level is already very good?

A possible merger would, for example, make it possible to offer this new club no less than eight fields spread over the four municipalities. Enough to start developing an ambitious training policy. This is already the objective of the two co-presidents who have come together without merging or even creating a group or agreement: “We have a very big project among young people. We want to access the National U19s and maintain the Youth project at both elite and mass level. The DNA and the purpose of the MGFC is to have a lot of young people. We want to continue to make them progress, that’s a real ambition that we nurture every day and that we will try to develop with Christophe ”.

Indeed, this cooperation where FC Côte Bleue will push to the maximum the potential of its young people by limiting its Seniors N3 team to players under 23 years old will allow Marignane Gignac FC to progress healthier in terms of feeding its team. N2. The leaders of the MGFC will then no longer be obliged to recruit players with strong financial demands which do not necessarily give the assurance of being efficient since they will be able to draw from the best young people of FC Côte Bleue. In addition, these young people will come from a “friend” club and they will therefore be followed on a daily basis throughout the season, like a real professional training center which operates its links with its amateur partner clubs.

Now, if a merger took place, there would be no need to go through the neighboring club anymore, it would simplify the process of transferring players from the youth squad to the seniors squad. And above all, all the licensees would play under the same colors and a common identity could then begin to develop. This is of great importance from a sporting point of view since young people would feel at home rather than being “transferred” from one club to another, which could have an impact on their future development. This merger would also make it possible to remove the final character of a transfer since the strongest potentials could play in N2 one weekend and then come down to the youth team the following weekend without having to change club. To reach this final point, it will first be necessary to agree between clubs and then to convince the four town halls to accept a total alliance, which is already not easy. For the 5th part of our MGFC-FCCB saga which will be broadcast tomorrow, we will be interested in the different points of view of municipalities on the subject.
