Mercedes was supreme in Barcelona in one lap today. But in the race simulations the gap to Max Verstappen was a lot smaller. Lewis Hamilton is therefore counting on an exciting fight during the race.
Mercedes had problems with blistering on the tires at Silverstone. Today they have spent a lot of time in the long runs to see if the tires will last longer during the race this weekend. Hamilton is satisfied after training.

“It has been a good day. It was tough on the track. We have never had it so hot, since we normally drive here in February, March and May. The weather is beautiful, but it is absolutely not good for the car. And it is also not good for the tires, you just slide a lot on the track ”, Hamilton says afterwards F1.
“It all felt good today. But let’s see if it goes like that on Sunday. We seem to be close to Red Bull in the long runs. So it will be an exciting fight during the race ”, Hamilton concludes.
Valtteri Bottas was also satisfied. “We had no blisters and the car felt good, although we can improve on some small details. We look strong, but the focus this weekend will mainly be on tire management with these high temperatures, ”the Finn said. F1.
