Barcelona rumored to now be able to change Antoine Griezmann with four players Manchester City which they are interested in.
Griezmann is one of the players who has been rumored to be leaving Camp Nou ahead of the new season. The French striker was put on the selling list to reduce the club’s salary burden.
Barcelona must reduce the salary burden by more than €180 million or equivalent to Rp3 trillion in order not to violate the Spanish League’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations this season.
The latest news that Barcelona has opened an option to exchange Griezmann with a number of Man City players. Radio Catalunya, as reported by Sport Bible, stated that Barcelona had already established contact with The Citizens.
Barcelona have also revealed the names of four Man City players they are interested in. The four players are Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, or Aymeric Laporte.
This exchange scheme is suspected of not getting a positive response. Moreover, Man City coach Pep Guardiola is also reportedly not interested in the 30-year-old striker and prefers to maintain the existing squad.
Sterling and Mahrez are often Guardiola’s first choices to fill the wing attacking sector. Likewise with Laporte, who is still included in Guardiola’s plans despite being unable to compete with Ruben Dias and John Stones.
Meanwhile, Silva continues to be rumored to be leaving Man City. However, the Portuguese midfielder remains a popular figure for Man City supporters.
Man City itself has just lost Sergio Aguero who went to Barcelona on a free transfer. City rivals Manchester United are now widely reported to be landing Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) to replace Aguero’s role as the team’s goal machine.
