The expulsion of Greek citizens to Ukraine in the event of a diplomatic crisis between Moscow and Kiev escalating into an immediate military conflict. This provides for a top-secret plan of the Greek Ministry of National Defense, claims “Trud”.
The document was prepared by the General Staff of Defense and coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy and a number of competent services that could be involved in the operation.
This is a plan that bears considerable resemblance to Operation Golden Fleece.as the operation to evacuate Greeks from the Abkhaz war zone was called, which began in July 1993 and ended a month later.
According to information the plan to evacuate the Greeks from Ukraine consists of three phaseswhich ensure the transfer to the relevant areas of special forces commandos to ensure the smooth and hassle-free transfer of all who wish to leave their homes.

The role of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy will also be key, given that it already exists mobilization to search for ships that could be used as floating hotels if necessaryor to transport Greek citizens from the war zone and would like to leave the area and move temporarily to other safer places or even to Greece.

A few days ago, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias was in the region, and his visit to the cities of Sartana and Mariupol, which are characterized by a strong Greek presence, aimed to demonstrate the country’s practical care for Greek emigrants, while combining the appointment of a new consul at the Greek consulate in Mariupol, a position that has been vacant for the last three years (since 2019).
