As part of the work on the six-lane expansion of the A3 motorway between the Biebelried and Fürth/Erlangen motorway junctions, the BW 377a underpass structure, which leads Niederndorfer Straße under the motorway at the Erlangen-Frauenaurach junction, will be gradually demolished and then rebuilt. First of all, the northern part of the structure, which carries the Frankfurt / Main carriageway, will be rebuilt. The motorway operator announced this in a press release on Wednesday (September 27, 2023).
In the next step, the formwork for concreting the structure is placed on the supporting frame. For this purpose, Niederndorfer Straße in the area of the underpass structure must be completely closed from October 20th, 2023 at around 8 p.m. until probably around 4 a.m. on October 23rd, 2023.
Road users who are coming from Herzogenaurach to Erlangen on Niederndorfer Straße or who want to get on the motorway in the direction of Würzburg are first directed via the motorway in the direction of Nuremberg to the Fürth-Erlangen motorway junction and from there towards Würzburg. It is possible to get onto the A3 in the direction of Nuremberg.
Road users who are coming from Erlangen on Niederndorfer Straße to Herzogenaurach or who want to get on the motorway in the direction of Nuremberg will be redirected via the motorway in the direction of Würzburg and the Erlangen-West junction. It is possible to get onto the A3 in the direction of Würzburg.
Road users coming from the direction of Nuremberg who want to exit the motorway in the direction of Herzogenaurach will be redirected via the Erlangen-West junction. The exit towards Erlangen is possible.
Road users coming from the direction of Würzburg on the motorway with the destination Erlangen are redirected via the U21 on-demand diversion. The exit towards Herzogenaurach is possible.
