Christmas market visit 2020: it will be possible in these cities!

The Christmas atmosphere is best built up with a visit to the Christmas market. Due to the corona, however, not as many markets as usual are received visitors. But on some you can also experience the magic of Christmas in 2020. Read on which one.

After it was recently decided that all major events would fall through by the end of the year, we had to worry about our Christmas markets. Cologne had already announced that it would close the bulkheads for all major Christmas markets, so we wonder if we can warm up with a mulled wine somewhere this year, eat quark balls and buy the umpteen winter hats for our collection. But the Christmas magic will also exist in some cities during the Corona crisis – certainly not in the way we know it from recent years, but at least it will exist. Because these Christmas markets will open in 2020 and give the visitors a peaceful time despite the virus.

We don’t yet know what our visit to the Christmas market will look like in a few months. Maybe we will have to get tickets online. Maybe we have to queue for a long time to get to the Christmas market, where the stalls are then possibly far apart – and where we will then look in vain for food and drinks for immediate consumption. No matter, the main thing is that we can at least feel a little bit of Christmas market flair. Because for many, a visit to the Christmas market belongs to Christmas like a Christmas tree to Christmas Eve.

If you are now disappointed that your city is not there, please look forward to the fact that even more Christmas markets in Germany in 2020 are considering opening despite the corona pandemic. All Hamburgers, Düsseldorfers, Stuttgarters and Mainzers will probably also be able to look forward to the bratwurst, the roasted almonds and the magical Christmas lights at their Christmas market. Christmas market openings are also planned in these cities. Essen, Augsburg, Leipzig, Hanover, Frankfurt and Esslingen will probably not have to do without traditional Christmas market stalls, Christmas decorations and Christmas gastronomic specialties such as gingerbread hearts and candied fruit.
