After several weeks of being publicly unaware of the efforts of the medical task force, Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced reported today that she met with the group, along with Health Secretary Lorenzo González.

I am very aware of the situation that the airport represents and we will take the necessary decisions to continue protecting Puerto Rico, ”wrote Vázquez Garced on his Twitter account.

On June 1, the first executive declared that the group would have a less active role, but they would continue advising her.
“The medical ‘task force’ have not given up their duties. However, their role will now be less active, given that they will continue advising this servant, the government and the people related to COVID-19, but taking into account that these medical professionals have their investigations and their medical offices that they have to follow. attending ”, clarified at that time the president.
