Books – Youssef Afifi:

The government continued the works of removing properties that conflict with the path of the new 26th of July corridor in the Al-Barajil area in Giza Governorate, within the framework of implementing the corridor works and developing the ring road in this area.

The concerned government agencies have finished disbursing compensation to the people living in the Al-Barajil area, in exchange for removing their homes that conflict with the track, and more than 30,000 pounds, the value of compensation is spent per room in the removed property, and more than 1,500 pounds per meter of shop, or commercial meter.

The number of properties to be removed in the Al-Barajil area and Izbat Khiza amounted to about 119 properties, and more than 100 properties have been removed so far from both sides, at a rate of 90% of the size of the planned removals there.

The width of the new 26th of July axis is about 62 meters, starting from Al-Barajil, passing through the ring road and the new railway station in Bashtil, to Ahmed Orabi Bridge in Mohandessin.

The government is working to connect the new 26th of July axis with the ring road in the Al-Barajil area, linking it with the Lieutenant General Kamal axis in the Bashtil region, in addition to linking it to the railway station in Bashtil, with the axis crossings in Orabi Street, Al-Sudan and Imbaba Airport.

And the concerned authorities in Giza Governorate started, in mid-July 2022, the first work to remove real estate that conflicts with the route of the new 26th of July Corridor in the Al-Barajil area, next to the Al-Barajil Bridge, specifically in (Ezbet Khiza).
