Members of the Animal Rebellion group occupied celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred restaurant in London on Saturday night, according to several British media outlets.
The activists sat at the tables of the restaurant, and brought with them fake menus that are supposed to show how much influence the various dishes on the menu have on the climate, they write Sky News.

– He can’t afford
In a statement from the group, they say the restaurant is a perfect example of the injustice currently affecting the UK.
– While Gordon Ramsay serves food costing at least £155 per person, more than two million people are dependent on food centers due to this crisis.
The group argues that instead of creating profits from restaurants at the expense of animals, workers and the climate, everyone must get food by supporting farmers and fishermen.
– For society, climate and animals, we cannot afford to continue like this, says group i the statement.

According to the group, 14 activists participated in the ascent. The restaurant was closed following the protests and the activists are said to have since left the restaurant.
The police were called and said The Guardian that no one has been arrested since the incident.
A spokesperson for the restaurant expressed clear disappointment at the incident.
– Everyone has the right to have their own opinions. But forcing your way into a restaurant, disrupting the hard work of staff doing their job and ruining the evening of guests who have been waiting months for their reservations is incredibly inappropriate and deeply disrespectful, the spokesperson said, quoted by The Guardian .

Shareholder in Norway
Animal Rebellion has also made its mark in Norway in recent years. In 2020 the group, together with Extinction Rebellion, carried out several actions in Oslo. They blocked, among other things traffic on Karl Johan and attached to the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries.
– We want to draw attention to the Norwegian oil policy and the fact that the Norwegian government is not acting in accordance with the situation we are in: climate crisis and ecological collapse, Sara van der Moer (31) told Dagbladet at the time .
