Theodorus Struyck, a 65-year-old resident of Frazier Park, California, has been named as the winner of the $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot prize. The announcement was made by the California Lottery.

Struyck, a Golden State billionaire, purchased the billion-dollar winning ticket at a market in Frazier Park for the October 11 drawing. He lives only 500 yards away from the store, making the win even more remarkable according to his neighbors.

The winner’s location was unknown at the time of the announcement, and Struyck’s neighbors were tight-lipped about his whereabouts.

The group that claimed the massive winnings remains unidentified, and Struyck’s neighbors wouldn’t share any information about the group.

The winning numbers for the historic jackpot were 22, 24, 40, 52, 64, and the red Powerball number was 10.

California Lottery to Raise $119.5 Million for Public Schools

The $1.765 billion prize allowed the California Lottery to raise an additional $119.5 million for public schools. California Lottery Director Harjinder K. Shergill Chima expressed excitement about the win, stating that it gives hope to all players and sheds light on their mission of generating funding for public education in the state.

Store and Owner Rewarded for Selling the Winning Ticket

The Midway Market & Liquor, where Struyck purchased the winning ticket, received a $1 million reward for selling the ticket. Store owner Nidal “Andy” Khalil expressed his enthusiasm, hoping the winner is a regular customer.

History of Mega Winnings

The $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot win falls just short of Edwin Castro’s historic $2.04 billion win in November 2022. Castro, the ticket holder for the largest national lottery jackpot, has since added to his impressive real estate portfolio and purchased several vehicles, including a vintage, green Porsche.

The odds of winning the Powerball grand prize are astronomical at 1 in 292,201,338. Struyck’s win after this long dry spell of jackpots is truly remarkable.
