Title favorite SC Cambuur lost the first points of the season in the first division at home against Go Ahead Eagles. The team of coach Henk de Jong lost 2-0 in Leeuwarden.
The visitors took the lead via a free kick. Erkan Eyibil curled the ball in the Frisian penalty area, Sam Beukema put the ball aside and Jeroen Veldmate fired in controlled. Shortly after the break it became 0-2. Bradly van Hoeven rounded off an action nicely.
Cambuur failed to come back in the match in the future. As a result, only NAC Breda (2-6), Roda JC (2-6) and De Graafschap (1-3) are now without loss of points.
Excelsior thanks top scorer Ómarsson
Earlier on Friday, Excelsior recorded a 3-1 win at FC Dordrecht and with that the Kralingers came on six points from three games, the same as Cambuur. Elías Már Ómarsson was the big man in the team of coach Marinus Dijkhuizen.
